VACCINATION CAMPAIGN 2011
The Surgery will be running THREE drop in clinics for patients in AT-RISK GROUPS ONLY. A list of eligible patients is shown below. Please note if you do not fall into an At-Risk group, you will not be vaccinated at the drop-in clinic, so please don’t attend. Once everyone at risk has been vaccinated, you may be offered an appointment if there are surplus vaccines available.
If you are over 65 as of 1st March 2009 you are also eligible for the Pneumococcal Vaccination which will cover you from certain strains of Pneumonia. Please ask at reception or talk to your nurse for further information.

Please note you will have to wait in the surgery for 10 minutes after the vaccination to make sure there are no adverse reactions.
AT RISK GROUPS
Over 65’s
People with Respiratory Disease
i.e. COPD, Bronchitis, Emphysema, Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Some people with Asthma.
People with Heart Disease
i.e. Angina, Heart failure, Previous Heart attack.
People with Kidney Disease
i.e. Chronic renal failure, undergoing dialysis, previous kidney transplant.
People with Liver Disease
i.e. Cirrhosis, Biliary Atresia, Chronic Hepatitis.
People with Diabetes
People with a history of...
Stroke or TIA, Multiple Sclerosis, Some diseases of the central nervous system.
People with a weak immune system
i.e No spleen or splenic dysfunction, HIV, Cancer, People taking high-dose steroids, Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy.
People who work or care for vulnerable people
i.e Health and social care staff directly involved in patient care, People who care for a vulnerable relative (Please note you may be asked for proof of status).
